Great local walks

You will find a host of wonderful walks and trails nearby.  The Tissington Trail is near to Swallows Cottage - you can hire bikes from Ashbourne - or just walk - it's flat and safe.

There are plenty of maps and guides in all the cottages.

It's always a good idea to do a bit of research before your walk to make sure that it is suitable for you and your group.  Don't forget to wear walking boots and do remember to close all gates behind you.

There are plenty of great on and off-road cycling trails - do look at peakdistrict.gov.uk for special routes.
